3. Robert Napoleon Botsford was born on 29 Jun 1854 in Farmville, Lee Co., Alabama.⁽²⁾⁽¹⁾ He died on 22 Sep 1918 in Opelika, Lee Co., Alabama.⁽²⁾⁽¹⁾

Robert died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in 1918. He was hauling corn to a gristmill in his Dodge touring car when his driver lost control and the car overturned. The sacks of corn fell on Robert Napoleon causing injuries that resulted in his death later in Opelika. He died at an emergency medical house located at the corner of 4th Avenue and 11th Street which was later occupied by the Buchanans for around 60 years. He was married to Ida Flanagan on 31 May 1876 in Auburn, Lee Co., Alabama.⁽²⁾⁽¹⁾ Ida Flanagan was born on 18 Jul 1854 in Auburn, Lee Co., Alabama.⁽²⁾⁽³⁾ She died on 11 Jan 1925 in Farmville, Lee Co., Alabama.⁽²⁾⁽¹⁾ Robert Napoleon Botsford and Ida Flanagan had the following children:
