In his life: • In 1920 David lived at 133 West 89th Street in Manhattan, New York, New York. 8 • He was counted in the 1920 US census for Manhattan, New York, New York. 8 ED 582, SD 1, sheet 4B, ward 7. • In 1930 David lived at 2349 23rd Avenue in Astoria, Queens, New York. • He was counted in the 1930 US census for Astoria, Queens, New York. • He served in the military as a Carpenter's Mate, 2nd Class in the US Navy From 30 October 1943 to 24 November 1945. 9 10 "DAVID GREENHUT, B.B., Carpenter's Mate 2/c son of Mr. and Mrs. Greenhut, was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on July 31, 1914. He attended Textile and Bryant High Schools in New York City. For ten years prior to the war he was in the printing supply line. On October 30, 1943, he entered the service in New York City as a volunteer in the Seabees, 302, NCB. He was awarded the Unit Naval Citation and Purple Heart. On November 24, 1945, Carpenter Greenhut as honorably discharged at Lido Beach Separation Center." • He received the Unit Naval Citation and the Purple Heart. 10 • In 1992 David lived at 4206 Alpine Place in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada. 11 David married Gertrude Victoria Reichard, daughter of George Reichard and Catherine A. Buckley, on 21 September 1940.12 The marriage ended in divorce on 19 May 1976. (Gertrude Victoria Reichard was born on 11 November 1918 in New York 12 13 14 and died in March 1995 in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada 15.) |
