  General Notes:

"Back in the 1940's there was a house fire that killed four or more children on the north shore [lake Superior]. I can't remember but think it was Uncle Ern & Rose's kids. (NB: evidence indicates they were Ernest and Ruth's children; see below.) There should be an article printed in the newspaper but I'm not sure exactly what year."
