"Arnold V. Baardson was born John Clifford Richmond on a farm near Brainerd, 3 or 4 March 1919...his older sister Annie was also adopted at the same time and she was three years older than he. Their father, George Richmond, and mother Hattie [Cole] Richmond, had at least thirteen children [maybe more]. Annie's name was changed to June...she passed away about 1961. Dad will be 86 in a few weeks. They live in Eatonville."

"There are also pictures of my mother, brother and I, taken in Glencoe circa WWII, and sent to my dad who was with Patton's 4th Armored in Germany at the time. He has one of the four Silver Stars awarded to men in the 4th Armored Division."
