"Myron Parent

Myron D. Parent, 75, of Isle, formerly of Duluth, died suddenly March 25, 2003, while on vacation in Albuquerque, N.M.

A service was held Sunday, March 30, at Opstead Baptist Church, Isle.

Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association or donors choice.

Myron is survived by his loving wife, Edna of Isle; sister Carol Ringstad of Duluth; daughters, Linda Parent, Sausalito, Calif., Susan Finstuen, Minneapolis, Karen Rees, Fairfield, Calif., and Laurie Parent, San Francisco, Calif.; step-children, Alfred (Leola) Homan, Pierce, Neb., Michael (Rossi) Homan, Albuquerque, Roger (Shirley) Homan, Isle, Glenna (Gary) Zortman, Isle, and Becky (Joe) Nelson, Glenwood; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Ione and his parents, Anna and James.

Myron was born in Grand Marais on Feb. 12, 1928. He moved to Duluth in 1946. He was a truck driver for over 42 years and a member of Teamsters Local 346. He currently worked as a volunteer driver for Mille Lacs County. Myron was a gregarious character who was able to engage anyone in conversation. He loved to travel and drive long distances visiting his family and friends. He will be remembered for his gift of gab, his love of life and his family and his strong faith.

He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Duluth and a current member of Opstead Baptist Church in Isle."
