Francis J. ''Frenchy'' Goulet, 81, lifelong Coleraine resident, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, in Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.
Born Aug. 29, 1916, in Akley, Minn., he was the son of Noah L. and Mary M. (Sadlier) Goulet. He was a graduate of Greenway High School, Coleraine and Twin Cities Barber College. He married Mary L. McNulty on April 10, 1939, in Coleraine. He had been mechanic for U.S. Steel, retiring in 1977 after 36 years of service.
He was a member of the former St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Coleraine, and a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine, until his death. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a 20-year member of Coleraine Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Mary Goulet; and a brother, Patrick S. Goulet.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; sons James F. Goulet of Maple Grove, Minn. and Thomas V. (Joyce) Goulet of Coon Rapids, Minn.; daughters Marguerite C. Goulet of Outing, Minn. and Mary Jean Goulet of Duluth; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters Jane Emsley of Duluth, Yvonne (Art) Kussian of Coleraine and Theresa Theobold of Lehigh, Fla.; and brothers Keith (Lou) Goulet of Lehigh and Phillip Goulet of Warroad, Minn.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. with 7 p.m. parish prayers today in Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine and 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday in Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine. Rev. Paul J. Larson celebrant. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
