Goulet was born in February 1872 in Minnesota,^{4 5 9 10} died on 24 March 1960 in Willmar, Kandiyohi, Minnesota ^{9 10} and was buried in Clontarf Township, Swift, Minnesota.) The cause of his death was coronary thrombosis due to lobar pneumonia.³
