Frances's birth certificate lists Josef as a "landwirt". Loose translation as "farmer' but is more akin to "wealthy landowner" or "lord of the manor".

Regarding Joseph's birthplace, Mitzka (proper name Repcemicske) was, at the time of his birth, a town in Hungary. After 1921, the Austrian Province of Burgenland was formed when an area consisting of parts of several Hungarian Provinces (including the town of Repcemicske) were ceded to Austria. At that time Repcemicske took it's German name, Strebersdorf. ⁸

Funeral from above residence Thursday morning at 8:30. Services at St. Francis de Sales church at 9 o'clock. Interment Calvary."
