Francis married Edvish Cournoyer, daughter of Gregoire Cournoyer and Theotiste Caplette. (Edvish Cournoyer was born about 1838 in Canada 5 and died before 1864 in Minnesota 9.)

The 1910 census notes that he's been married twice.

Between 1860 and 1870, Francis's wife Edvish and son Napoleon disappear from the records; in 1870 Francis is remarried and daughter Edvish is living with him.

Francis next married Armeline Goulet, daughter of Louis Goulet, Sr. and Marie Robichaud, in 1865 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota.1 (Armeline Goulet was born on 24 February 1849 in St. Ambroise de Kildare, Quebec, Canada,10 died on 2 February 1939 in Clontarf Township, Swift, Minnesota 10 and was buried on 6 February 1939 in Clontarf Township, Swift, Minnesota 10.) The cause of her death was heart failure, myocarditis and old age.3
