Q Capsule
|
The text on this card is about as simple and straight forward as it gets. When you play Q Capsule, you get to stand any creature which is currently sided. The creature must be in the current time zone (CTZ), and can be on either your side or your opponent's side.
The card is useful primarily in the following situations:
Let's explore each of these possibilities further.
Your opponent has just declared an attack against your Doctor Who II card with his Giant Robot. Doctor II can take support from three creatures. Problem is, you have no cards with which to support it. They're all sided from previous actions. Looks like your opponent's Giant Robot will make mince-meat of your Doctor. Wait! You have a Q Capsule flash card! Play it, and you can stand your White Guardian, adding 3 points to your Doctor's Energy, and your Doctor II card survives to see another round.
Let's say you've sided your Icthar to add +1 Energy / +1 Substance to your Silurians. Play Q Capsule to stand Icthar. Now sided it again and your Silurians now have 3 Energy / 3 Substance, or use Icthar for his support value, and your Silurian now has 4 Energy / 2 Substance!
Keep in mind that the text of Q Capsule simply says "Stand any sided creature." It says nothing about preventing a creature from siding. It also says nothing about cancelling any effects caused by previously siding that creature.
Just think about the possibilities....
This should be obvious. All your creatures are sided and your opponent attacks. Since you have no standing creatures to defend with, you're sure to take a hit. Play that Q Capsule, and you have a defense! And you get to pick which creature will be defending, too, by choosing which creature to stand.
You're opponent has that dreaded Ace card. Ace has been threatening to blow up any Resources you may play in that zone all evening. And you haven't had the chance to attack Ace, because your opponent keeps siding her for support. Play your Q Capsule, stand Ace, and attack! If your lucky, Ace will be eliminated, and during next turn you can play that Resource card you've been holding.
