Supplement, published October 1974, p S-26 "Benjamin Franklin Grinstead
(9/5/1820 - 4/17/1893) married Catherine Anne Ingram (3/2/1823 -
11/23/1876). Both were b. in VA; place of his death is NOT known, but was
NOT at Charleston, WV. They lived in Washington Co., VA at time of the
1850 and 1860 Census reports. Fourteen children: Hannah V; Andrew
Cunningham; Minerva C.; Jacob Valentine; Doreas; Parker Smith; Margaret
Ann; William M.; Jasper Newton; Thomas Orr; Sallie F.; Samuel Robert Lee;
Charles M Grinstead."

Benjamin Franklin Grinstead was born September 5, 1821 in Washington Co.,
VA and died April 17, 1893 ikn Charleston, West Virginia. He married (1)
Catherine Ann Ingram in Washington Co., VA. He married (2) Eunice McClure
January 3, 1878 in Marion, Smyth Co., VA.
Benjamin moved to Washington Co., VA with his father and married there in
1820. He worked most of his life as a miller at love's Mill located at
Love Mill, Virginia. The mill still exists in 1997 and still operates by
water from the Holstin River. He served in the Confederate Army in the VA
48th Inf. Co. D. as recorded in "The Roster of Confederate Soldiers, 1861
- 1865" Broadfoot Pub. Co. Wilington, NC, 1996, edited by Janet B.
Henlett, Gen. 973.742, Vol. 7.

The family Bible states that he died in Charleston, WV, but records
indicating this have not yet been found.
