Sarah Hintz
Funeral services for Sarah Hintz, 82, of Good Samaritan Center, will be
held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church. Rev. Wayne Edmund
will officiate. Interment will be in the Mansfield Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Hintz died Wednesday morning at the center, where she had been a
resident for the past year.
She was born May 25, 1896, at Kiester, the daughter of August and May
Katzung. She married Ervin W. Hintz March 10, 1914, at Mansfield
Lutheran church. They farmed south of Walters for 25 years, moving to
Kiester in 1939, where she managed the Kiester Hotel. She moved to
Albert Lea in 1968. She had been a member of the Mansfield Lutheran
church and president of the ladies aid. She was a member of the Salem
Lutheran Church, Albert Lea.
Survivors include three sons, Elton of Truman; Robert of Albert Lea and
Ivan of Stewartville; one daughter, Mrs. Carlyle (Ardis) Peterson of
Mankato; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Katzung of Albert Lea;
Mrs. Don (Florence) Stieler, also of Albert Lea; four brothers, Barney,
Arthur, Walter, and Lawrence, all of Albert Lea and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ervin in 1950,
one son, one grandson and one sister.
Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Friday at the Freeborn Funeral
Home. There will be no reviewal. The family prefers memorials be sent
to Good Samaritan Center.
