Notes for Evelyn Gudveig Christianson:

Hans probably came through Canada.

Worked at a farm near Manchester. Lived in Manchester township until
1920, then Carlson Township; east of Freeborn after 1924, at least until
1928 according to Olga's obituary.

Evelyn says she was born in a log cabin between Freeborn and Manchester
(near Arrowhead Point).

Share-cropped east of Freeborn - Oscar and Ray born there.

Moved east of Freeborn - Raffort farm - also where Majel was run over by
a tractor. Majel became deaf in one ear.

Hans' wife - Olga Marie (Thauland?) Jakobsen - kept by Hans' parents
later. Evelyn remembers that she was adopted, but not where she heard it
(Hans? Einar?). Had state subsidy when she was younger - orphan - had to
find another place to live - maybe brought home from the school.

Albert was to come to the US - ticket was going to expire before he got
out of military, so Hjalmer came.

Olga died when Evelyn was 11 years old - March 31, 1928.

Celia also had 3 sons from a previous marriage.

The economic condition of the poor in Norway was not good at the time
Hans was born. Dina worked with Kristian as a stonemason. When Kristian
died, Dina was not allowed to continue working by herself. Dina moved
the family to Oslo and took a job as a cleaning woman at a local school.
Dina met Olga Marie Jakobsen at school and invited her to live with her
family. Olga was orphaned and was put out by her foster parents when she
reached the age when the state orphan subsidy was cut off.

Hans never applied for US citizenship.
