Atlas/Roco (Austria) Standard Steel-Sided Caboose w/ Offset Cupola

Atlas's first N scale caboose was manufactured in Austria by Roco. This six-window caboose came out in the late 1960s and was a fairly short-lived design, being replaced some time in the early 1970s by the now familiar eight-window "transfer caboose" design. Both Bachmann and Life-Like have offered similar six-window cabooses (the former manufactured in China and the latter manufactured in Yugoslavia).

These models have metal wheels and shell-mounted Rapido couplers. They are stamped "Atlas Austria" on the bottom.

I'm told that this model was based on a Grand Trunk Western / CN (Newfoundland Railways) prototype, shortened to fit on the Roco 30' underframe.
