My FanFiction

RANMA 1/2

Most of my original fanfiction was written in the setting of Ranma 1/2. Ranma 1/2 is the story of a martial artist named Ranma, who was cursed by a magical spring to take the body of a beautiful girl whenever splashed with cold water, an effect which can be countered by hot water, but only until the next time cold water crosses his path. It really is a hilarious show, but more importantly, it provides a wonderfully versatile medium for writing fiction. To learn more about Ranma 1/2 you can visit my Ranma ½ site. If that's not enough, the Anime Web Turnpike has TONS of information available, on Ranma as well as scores of other animes. Here are some of the stories I've written set in the Ranma 1/2 world:

HALFTIME: My largest story to date. Divided into twenty-three chapters, Halftime is a crossover between Ranma 1/2 and 'Chrono Trigger', an excellent Role Playing Game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

JUSTICE: This is a rather grim piece of fiction. A tragic tale starring Nabiki Tendo, one of the supporting cast of Ranma 1/2, Justice is a story written mostly by my Dark Id, a rather disturbed and normally supressed facet of my personality.

AN AMAZON'S VENGEANCE: A drama featuring Shampoo, the Chinese Amazon, and Akane, Ranma's only reluctant fiancee, years after Ranma's wedding. It explores just how far Shampoo is willing to take her obsessive love for Ranma. Not really dark, but not happy, either.

DELIVERANCE: Here's an unusual offering. Deliverance is a story that I wrote for a character that I am playing in an on-line Ranma 1/2 role-playing game called Children of Nerima. However, that character does not appear in this story. :) Instead, it stars the semi-well-known character, Pantyhose Tarou, and the almost completely unknown minor character Kaori Daikoku, and explains how the two... fell in love?!? Read it if you dare...

EL-HAZARD

Since becoming an anime fan, I've had the opportunity to see dozens of different shows. Probably my favorite anime of all time, however, is El-Hazard. It's about some high school kids and their teacher, who are mysteriously transported to another dimension, where they become embroiled in the great war that's occurring there. And that, of course, is a woefully inadequate description. For more detail (a LOT more detail), visit Ifurita and Ifurita's Dual El-Hazard Web Site, my own personal homage to this wonderful anime. But, for now, check out the fanfiction I've written in the World of El-Hazard:

WANDERING SOULS: CHAPTER ONE: THE WORLD OF SHADOWS: This is an El-Hazard alternate universe. Basically, this means that I've taken the original story, thought to myself, "But what if it happened THIS way, instead...?", and then wrote up the result. I won't describe what I did here, 'cause that would spoil the surprise. Read it, and find out! Oh, this DOES assume that the reader has some familiarity with El-Hazard, but it may well be readable even if you're not. (NOTE: This is the first chapter of what is likely to be a seven chapter story. I normally like to complete my stories before posting any part of them, but I decided to try it this way, to see whether having a part online for the world to see might encourage me to write the rest a little faster...)

TENCHI MUYO

Tenchi Muyo is one of those anime that pretty much any anime fan has heard of, even if they haven't seen it. It's a great show, even if it suffers a bit from the fact that there have been several versions of the show released, each different from the others (and the best of them was never finished). It's the story of a young man living with several attractive alien girls, most of which want to have his baby (to put it crudely ^_^ ). For more details, check out what I have to offer on my Tenchi Muyo site. For more info than you can possibly stand, of course, I always recommend the Anime Web Turnpike. And now, here's my teeny contribution to Tenchi Muyo fandom:

THE OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK: This is a spamfic. A spamfic is a short, inconsequential story, usually humorous. This particular spamfic focuses on a Juraian noble making his last stand against an unstoppable fleet invading his homeworld. And if THAT didn't make sense to you, then neither will this story. ^_^ For Tenchi Muyo fans only.

MAYUKA'S DAY OUT: Washu takes Mayuka on a visit to Tokyo Tower. Unfortunately, they hadn't counted on meeting up with... the Sailor Scouts?!? This story was written in response to a "Writer's Test" featured on a website called Achika's Legacy. This is a crossover, featuring characters from Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, and Magic Knights Rayearth.

GARGOYLES

More are likely to be familiar with the popular Disney cartoon "Gargoyles" than with Ranma 1/2. Gargoyles is an action-packed series detailing the adventures of a clan of tenth century creatures, magically frozen in stone for a thousand years to be reawakened in modern Manhattan. It's a show that does a marvelous job of combining fantasy elements with science fiction. A good source of information on this series is The Gargoyles Fan Website. If you have not watched Gargoyles before, I highly recommend it. Disney has always created fantastic cartoons, and Gargoyles is not an exception.

I'M SORRY: At the end of the second season of the Gargoyles series, Demona, an immortal rogue Gargoyle obsessed with destroying humanity, nearly unleashed a magical plague that would have destroyed all intelligent life on the planet. This story answers the question, what might have happened if she had succeeded? This is another dark piece of fiction, written, again, by my Dark Id. Not a happy piece.

HONOR AND WRATH: This fanfic was a first for me in many ways. For one, it was the first self-insertion 'fic I had ever written. (For those who don't know, that means that I am a main character in the story.) Perhaps more importantly, though, this is the first fanfic I've ever co-written with another author. Yup, equal credit for this work must go to Laura "Pendragoness". All in all, it was a project I had fun doing. Fun enough to do it again...

ASYLUM: This is the sequel to "Honor and Wrath", also co-written by Pendragoness. Our heroes, both those self-inserted and those native to the Gargoyles universe, seek asylum from Oberon's vengeance. So why is Oberon vengeful? Read "Honor and Wrath" to find out. Then read "Asylum". And all my other stories while you're at it. :) A warning: this story contains one scene with an arguably explicit sexual situation. (Now THERE'S something I never thought I'd see in one of my stories!)

AVALONGING: The third story in the "Honor and Wrath" series. Our heroes continue their skiff-borne quest to find the weapons they need to strike back at Oberon. Will they ever make it back to Avalon? This will be the last of the "Adventures of Pendragoness and Dark Id" for some time to come. I've lost contact with Pendragoness, and it doesn't look good. I hope to hear from her again someday, but until that day comes, this series can be written no further... :(

MISCELLANEOUS

BISHOMON

A while ago, I stumbled across an interesting Internet phenomenon that combined Pokémon with avid anime fandom. These were the Pocket Bishoujo and Pocket Bishonen - little pictures of anime characters that you could "catch" and collect. I collected quite a few of my favorites (you can see them here).

BISHOMON! GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL, CHAPTER ONE: After collecting several Bishomon (a generic term for Pocket Bishoujo and Pocket Bishonen), I decided that it'd be interesting to write a story about it. This story, stars me, and so is a blatant self-insertion. Be warned! Fans of the Bishomon phenomenon may, nonetheless, get a kick out of this story.

BISHOMON! GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL, CHAPTER TWO: Here's chapter two of the story, in which Spanner and Mihoshi quickly find themselves in over their heads. Fortunately, they meet a new ally. Unfortunately, they also meet a new enemy...

FINAL FANTASY

Probably the best console-based Role Playing Games out there are the ones belonging to the Final Fantasy series of games. More than anywhere else, they tend to provide interesting stories and fascinating and likable characters. Because of this, a lot of fanfiction has been written for these games - combined, the collection ranks favorably against almost any anime you could name. So, it probably wasn't all that unexpected that I would write something myself, eventually.

FINAL FANTASY X: SUMMARIZED!: This hardly qualifies as a fanfic, actually. It's basically a summary of the timeline for the events of Final Fantasy X, presented in a humorous form. Unlike my other stories, this one is presented in a text format (I wasn't really sure it was worth the effort of converting to HTML). Still, if it gives you a chuckle, then its done its job. Not recommended for readers who have not finished playing the game themselves. This story is also notable for being the first story I added to my account at fanfiction.net. Kinda sad, actually. ^_^;;

MAGIC: THE GATHERING

For a time, I was obsessed with this entertaining collectable card game. Magic really is a fun game, but also an expensive habit (almost as expensive as video games). Wizard's of the Coast, Inc. has information on Magic, as well as other collectable card games.

THE BREEDING PITS: For those familiar with Magic, this story does not limit itself to any single expansion set. It draws upon cards from several expansions, especially Fallen Empires and the 3rd and 4th Edition basic sets. Neither does it involve any 'Planeswalkers' (the players - wizards who summon and control creatures, and cast spells as they duel with other Planeswalkers), a popular convention when writing Magic fanfiction. I merely wrote a story using several cards I thought were cool at the time. The Breeding Pits is the story of a young Basal Thrull and his liberation from evil, and the story of a young woman named Amrou Kithkin who has to come to terms with her prejudice against creatures created by the black magic of death.
