Titanic

So I saw James Cameron's Titanic today and I must say that if it does not win Best Picture, I will never watch the Academy Awards again.

But you can go anywhere and read that people liked the movie, and get the recommendation to go see it. That's not why you come here to this website, is it?

Of course not. That's why I'm going to say this: Go see it, but be damned sure not to get a soda.

Because while the movie is good, the movie is long. Suspense may prevent you from remembering how long you've been in the theatre, but your bladder won't forget.

At about one hundred minutes into it, when the romance between our principals blossoms, I was getting the wrong kind of swelling down below.

The same thing happens in other movies and I can hack it. Those same movies don't spend the next ninety minutes showing water bursting forth through every possible wall, door, window and crevice.

Long before the passengers were losing all sense of control, I was having my own doubts. I made it out alive, but I thought I should warn you about the risks.

Buy a ticket, and walk past the concession stand. Trust me.
