Garlic Rice

Ingredients:

fat, sirloin steak

minced

1/4 Cup

oyster mushrooms
|
diced

1/4 Cup

button mushrooms

diced

to taste

salt

sugar
|

rice, cooked

Steps
1. In a skillet over high heat, start rendering the fat; cooking it constantly until it gets small and brown and most of it has been liquified. Pour off all but 4 tablespoons of the liquid fat.
2. Saute the garlic and both types of mushrooms in the fat, seasoning with the salt. After about 4 - 5 minutes, sprinkle with the sugar.
3. Add the rice and toss; stir-frying swiftly to lightly brown the rice in the fat. When all of the ingredients are mixed, put the rice on a platter for serving.
Serves 6 as a small side-dish.
Serving Notes:
This was served by the Iron Chef as a side-dish along with the Rib Eye Red Wine Stew.
