What is the Darken Hollow?

Years ago, in the days when Role Playing Games meant the world to me, I would often referee tales of high fantasy, daring adventure and artistic imagery. The group of gamers that gathered around the small card table in my bedroom all those years ago wandered through the lands of my own creation, taking some things with them but leaving even more behind. At one particular turn in the road, I created "The Darken Hollow"; an Elven tavern and inn that stood between a jeweler and an herbalist's shoppe.

That tavern, quickly purchased by the players' characters with the loot from years of mercenary adventure, was a hard-wood affair; with blackened ceilings, ale-stained floors and smoke-filled air. It always had a fire on the grate and the scenery -through it's tinted windows- always had the feel of autumn. The Darken Hollow became a symbol to me of what I could create to capture the imaginations and interests of others. It was also a home; well-stocked with food (something that I find crucial to good life), fun (games abounded in the back rooms) and -most of all- friends.

Although mundane concerns and politics have sundered that small group of players, the Darken Hollow still survives. New friends have come into my life and new experiences, broadened my horizons. This place is still one for fellowship and camaraderie; but it is -primarily- a place to rest, enjoy and explore...

Greetings, weary visitor...
