My experience with Smile was mixed. I had ordered more than one VCR and one didn't show up for weeks. When I called the first time after only an extra week had gone by, I was told it was out of stock (tho they already had charged me for it) and would be in by the end of that week. A couple of more weeks went by before I called again. This time I insisted on speaking to someone in charge and due to the length of time since the original sale he was nice enough to offer to send me a better more expensive model (from the same manufacturer with added features) at no extra cost. This to me more than made up for my having to wait for more than a month to get the VCR. I have ordered from them since then and haven't had any further problems. So, yes, I would recommend buying from them.

This is the worst mail order company I have dealt with. I ordered a set of Infinity 693i speakers from Smile on a wednesday and not see anything for a week and a half (even though they were _very_ rude on the phone.) On monday I called their 1-800 number to get a tracking number and they told me that I couldn't use _that_ number to request shipping information. They then gave me a long distance number to call (Colorado to NY) to get this information. They said it had been shipped and reluctantly gave me the tracking number (they even asked me why I needed it!?!) I used UPS' on-line tracking form and found out that it was shipped the same day I called (again, a week and a half later.) When UPS tried to drop it off, they couldn't because Smile required a "live" signature, instead of a signed note that I usually leave on the door to leave it there. Still haven't seen it..... I used J&R a week after I called Smile and three days later, I got it...perfect condition. My recomendation, don't shop Smile

I called Smile Photo because they had the best price advertised for a camera that I wanted. After talking with the salesrep and giving him my credit card info, I asked him for my total and it was higher than the advertised price. Upon asking him the reason, he said the item advertised was a used one. At this point, I decided I did not want to deal with this outfit. So I told him to forget the whole order and to cancel the transaction. He told me no problem, it is already done. Guess what, the shipment showed up and was refused by my apartment management upon my request and UPS took it back. UPS does not give you a receipt for a refused shipment. Now Smile Photo claims they never got their stuff back and want me to pay for the shipment. Based on my experience with this outfit, stay away for the scum. They will rip you off every chance they get.

I saw their ad and though, WOW..., the prices are great. Then I learned that you can't judge a book by its cover. I called and got some stupid run-around about how the item is out of stock and its impossible to get. There was some talk about if I put a deposit of some sort, there may be a chance. Well, it was just confusing. Not at all what it seemed to be in the ad. I called another mail order company a second later and got the same car radio (which was in stock) for a lower price, and got it in three days. Smile, however does not do that!

After months of placing failed orders elsewhere for a projector bulb. With the other's arguments that this produc is invalid, DNE, backordered for 3 months, etc...I called Smile and they immediately came through with the lowest price and had it delivered UPS 4 days from the order, intact and to my door. The billing was exactly as stated over the phone. I will deal with them again, when I need electronics.

I would only buy from the retail store if they would show the merchandise and I could tell it wasnt used. They are the worst in the lot: advertising the lowest prices in magazines and often not having the item in stock. These guys are in the dictionary under "Bait and Switch". Avoid them unless you know what you want.
