Called all the authorized Sony ES mail order dealers to get a quote on a Sony ST-DA80ES Dolby Digital Receiver. Prices ranged from $949 to $740 (with everyone being $899 or more except for one place). Guess who quoted the $740 for the receiver? You guessed it. Anyways, I was leary from ordering from Samman's again because I ordered a Sony SAS AD2 from them about a year ago and it they charged me $5 more than the agreed upon price. A little haggling was required but the unit arrived in two days. On this purchase, I ordered the receiver on Dec 31. The unit was back ordered just like every store in the country. Samman's called me up on Feb 6 to ask me if I still wanted the unit (which was nice), in which case I said yes. I received the unit on Feb 11th. They had not double boxed the unit (Ahhhg!!!) It was in pretty bad shape, there was even a small hole in the box! I then noticed that they had not attached the receipt in any type of pouch to the side of the box. I called them up and mentioned that the unit was not double boxed (something that I won't forget to make them do next time) and that the receipt was missing. He looked my order up in the computer and said that he was going to mail the receipt tomorrow (trust me, I'll call him up tomorrow to remind him). If you're looking for real good prices, Samman's may be the place for you. If you also want excellent service, then I suggest that you try places such as Onecall or Sound Approach. You'll also pay more, though. Price was more important to me so I went with these guys. Ask for Mike or Dennis, they were pretty helpful.
