I ordered the Atlantic Technology 254.1 SR surround
speakers from One Call late Tuesday evening. They arrived
by Friday morning via Fedex two-day air, double-boxed as
always so no problems to report. One Call also matched the
price of another online company (dropped the price by about
$25 including shipping) for a whopping 47% off of list if
you include 2-day air shipping and 51% without shipping.
As always they provided me with a Fedex tracking number
when I requested it the next day.

Onecall has changed it 15% return policy. If you buy it and it works, you
own it. They say they will happily take returns on any merchandise that
does not perform as intended. This was all told to me up front without an
order in their hands. It seems fair to me. Also, I ordered on a Wednesday
and was told my purchase would be in my hands Friday (Washington State to
Maryland) it was, and in perfect condition. I would use them again without
reservation.

I ordered a relatively inexpensive SONY 'Pressman' cassette
recorder. They were very courteous and straightforward.
The delivered (FedEx) price was excellent and the unit
arrived exactly as promised. I was impressed by how well I

I just got my Sony SDP-EP9ES delivered yesterday from One
Call, and am totally satisfied. A few reasons:
1. I talked to them several times about my order before
making it, and got consistent answers each time. This
should be a given, but sadly, this is actually unusal enough
to comment on. They were not pushy and actually seemed
concerned that I be happy with my purchase.
2. Got a great price
3. I placed my order on Friday and was told it would be
there the next Tues. It arrived FedEx 2nd day on Tues
morning, double boxed and in perfect condition.
I'd not hesitate to order from them again in the future.

I purchased a receiver and speakers from OneCall. They were
reasonably patient with several information/quotation calls
before the order was placed, and were knowledgable about
what they were selling, with only soft attempts made to
sell up. One item was out of stock when ordered, and came
into stock when promised. I recieved a courtesy call the
day the order was shipped. The equipment arrived via FedEx
one day later than promised. Everything was double-boxed,
and a good thing too as the outer box had been damaged, with
a huge corner taken out of it.

Ordered a Sony Minidisc player/recorder. Pleased with the
service, delivered on the day promised. Good price. The
only "caution" I can tell people is that their return policy
is 7 days for defects only. Fortunately, I did not need to
return the item. I think it is very important that
companies have a good return policy.

Had a very good experience ordering a receiver from One
Call. Product arrived on time and double boxed. The only
small bit of advice is that even though they qoute a price a
day or two before you order, check the web page on the day
that you order because the price may have changed. Also,
when asking for a price qoute, get them to be very specific
about shipping costs. The shipping costs I was qouted
started at a low of "around $23" and ended up being $30.
Small details, but for those pinching pennies like myself,
precision is important. I will purchase from them again
without hesitation.

Great experience. I ordered an Infinity CC-3 from them on
Saturday and it showed up on Wednesday as promised. Not
only did I get great service, quick shipping in a double
boxed containter, I saved over $80.00 off of the best price
I could find locally (and I live in a major metropolitan
area!) even when you consider the shipping charge. Highly

I talked to Ralph at One Call and he was very helpful. I
ordered the Atlantic Tech 350THX speaker system. They had
the best price I could find at the time. The seven boxes
came two days later (they were NOT double boxed) and were
in good condition. (FED-EX does not throw them around like
UPS does). I would/will order additional items from them in
the future as long as I get the same service as I received
on this order. I do recommed them and would like it if you
would let them know I refered you to them.

I purchased a 51 inch Pioneer TV from One Call a year ago.
The shipping time was forever. Screen had a defect but One
Call didn't give a rip. No customer service!!! Avoid this
place. I would suggest purchasing ultra heavy equipment like
a large screen TV locally if possible. I learned the hard
way. (It didn't make any sense to spend the big money to
ship it back for repairs)

east coast time on Wednesday. Had my gear in perfect
condition (double boxed, factory new) by 10:30AM Thursday
for $32 shipping! Dealt with Ralph. He was very
knowledgable and was willing to take the time to work with
me on the order. No rush to get off the phone at all.
I've dealt with Onecall 3 times now with excellent
results. Highly recommended!

product arrived on time in perfect condition. Only make
sure that you are %100 sure of your purchase. I tried to
return a preamp but they would not let me even with a %15
restocking fee. I was a little disappointed, but I didn't
feel it was their fault. I guess they lose to much if they
accepted returns. Very helpful people and good prices.

Ordered a 50" Hitachi RPTV from One Call, received the set
in 4 days (as they said), at a total price 65% of what it
would have cost at local stores. TV arrived in perfect
shape, other than it did not have the Oak trim I was sure to
have specified (otherwise, set was identical). Upon further
genial discussions with One Call, the situation was totally
resolved to our satisfaction. These folks are very
knowledgeable, very customer focused, and don't blow you off
impatiently concerning questions you might have. If they
have the component I want, I am making only "One Call".

This place is the real deal. I'm an Auditor and skeptical
by nature so I was hesistant to use mail order. However, I
was very surprised and pleased by this company. I ordered a
DVD/Laserdisc player from Tom with Saturday/overnight
delivery and got a great deal. The unit arrived on time and
beautifully new and factory sealed as promised.
I was so pleased with the pricing/service that a few days I
ordered a Dolby Digital receiver from Tom with overnight
delivery at a great price. I had intended to wait a few
months. Again the unit arrived new, double boxed, etc.
While ordering the unit I asked Tom to email me back a FedEx
tracking number and he was unable to do so. It was a moot
point because the item arrived on time but Tom still took
the time to call me and apologize. I wonder if the
companies from that big city in the east ever apologized to
anyone...
Thanks to OneCall and Tom I have now completed my home
theater without being shafted by retail pricing. I will
definitely consult them in the future when making
audio/video purchases.

Extremely pleased with my experience with One Call.
I purchaed a VCR from them. Tom was the saleman. The
product I wanted was not in stock, but should arrive in the
following week.
Tom, called when it arrived, they did not charge my credit
card until the product shipped. It arrived on the day they
said it would. It arrived double boxed.
Everythig was perfect, the product, the salesman, the

I was extremely pleased with the service I received from
OneCall. The telephone rep was knowledgable and polite. The
prices are excellent!!! I saved several hundred dollars on a
trio of NHT speakers, and purchased a Harmon Kardon AVR40
for $100 less than the price at my local Circuit City--
including shipping. Everything arrived in great condition,
double boxed, in two working days. I only wish that OneCall
would offer a wider variety of manufacturer's products. In
the future, as long as they have the product I want, I
probably won't even bother shopping around for a better

Talked to Ralph, purchased DD Yamaha receiver $500 below what I could get
it for in Denver. Did not know what type of centre channel to buy because
of JBL Studio Monitors. Ralph suggested Infinity CC3 because of adjustable
crosssover. I was told about 15% return policy. This was my first time
using mail order. I am very pleased with the service and advice I received.
The CC3 sounds great (at a great price) and will do all my future buying
from One Call. Great Job Ralph!

I price compared for an Onkyo 939 and a pair of Atlantic
Technology 254.1 surround speakers. One Call wouldn't price
match against certain vendors (made several references to
this list as a source of good information) but they ended up
being only ~$10 higher on the package vs any other vendor.
The difference was FedEx shipping vs UPS ground.
I placed the order on Saturday, they shipped on Monday.
Tuesday I called for the airbill number, which they gave me
after confirming my identity. The double boxed package
arrived on Thursday. Both the speaker box and the receiver
box appeared to have been opened and resealed, but the
contents looked factory fresh.
After many hours setting it up, I have gotten the receiver
operational, using the new speakers. All appears well.

The quick delivery is the only good thing I have to say. The
"discount" esp on big-ticket items is minimal. My component
arrived with no warranty card. When it started to
malfunction One Call did not respond to my queries. Finally
they refused to issue a return authorization number. Get a
written policy statement on after-sales service and returns
from this bunch before you buy.

good prices, and prompt delivery. I purchased a Sony
DVD S3000 from this company recently and received an
extremely competitive price, including FEDEX shipping.
I liked that ! This company is a breath of fresh air
in comparison to the seedy New York based mail order
outfits which feature rude, bored sounding sales clerks.
They typically quote you a high price and then reduce it
if you give them the impression you can get a better price
elsewhere. My advice, go the Onecall and the best, or

The folks at One Call are the most straight forward in the mail order
business. My wife bought a Toshiba 35F90 cinema series TV as a present
for me. The first time she had mail ordered electronics. They not only
did a great job assisting here in the selection process but also had the
best price to boot. I recommended them to a friend, guess what I got a
thankyou check in the mail. I've been buying mail order electronics for
over 15 years and the only company that comes close is J & R Music World.

Very good!!! Tom was quite helpful. He answered all my questions about
the company and was very knowledgeable about the merchandise. He even
gave me some tips about the hookup in a later call. For a mail order
house they go the extra mile with knowledge and asked for advice. The
equipment arrived on the date they said with shipping list enclosed
showing the agreed upon prices. When one of the items was out of stock
except for a box with the staples removed, Tom called me back and only
shipped the item
at my request with a reduced (B Good) price. Just got everything hooked
up and it works fine.

This was the first time I actually ordered from One Call
although I have called them in the past to get price
quotes. I called them the Thursday before Christmas at
around 7PM Eastern time and ordered a DVD player. I ended
up asking for overnight delivery and they had no problem
with that even at the late hour (about 4PM West Coast time).
They shipped my merchandise same day according to FedEx
tracking. However, because of Christmas volume FedEx was
unable to move items out of their warehouses because the
planes were full. FedEx told me that they would refund the
full shipping price but I would have to go through my
shipper (One Call) to get the refund. After speaking to
One Call they verified with FedEx and IMMEDIATELY refunded
the $30 for shipping. It was also great that they sent a
follow up letter indicating that my account had been
credited. Oh yeah, I finally got the Toshiba 3107 on
Monday instead of Friday but at least the shipping was free.

I have been very happy with One Kall, however I had a bad
experience over Christmas. I called to order a couple of
DVDs (I've ordered several times from them before), and was
very rudely told that they aren't interested in my business
unless I'm ordering a Player along with the movie during
the Christmas season. I can understand the reasoning, I
can't imagine they make much off a few DVDs, but I was
offended they would treat a past customer like that.
Allthough I won't order DVDs from them ever again, I still
would reccomend them for anything else...

positive comments here. Glad I did. Both orders came on
or before the date they promised (3-4 days). Great price
too! Make sure you know what you want. Consider the
price they offer, I don't blame them for the return policy.

Moderator Note: For the sake of breviety, the following
comment contains only segments of the origional.
The first problem I had was that they do not allow for the
return of car audio equipment for any reason. Even if it
is defective. They did not volunteer this information. I
had to specifically ask about warranty and return
information. I feel that this is wrong. I believe that
almost everyone expects to be able to return equipment that
does not work properly. The fact that they did not
volunteer this information when they knew that I was making
my first car audio equipment purchase from them is
misleading. I have a suspicion that unprepared people
could be burned by this.
The second problem that I had was that there was no
warranty card with my order. I have called and talked to
Tom twice about this. They would not permit a return and
they would not provide a warranty card. Tom told me that
warranty cards are just so that companies can receive
demographic information about their customers and that I
don't need it. However, if I really wanted one, he
suggested that I call Sony directly. He also said that
because they don't accept returns, I can get my Sony car CD
player fixed without a warranty card at any authorized Sony
dealer by just showing my receipt from One Call. This is a
lousy response. I could not believe the type of service
that I was getting. If I hadn't read the other positive
responses from this site, I would have definitely thought
that One Call was a shady, unauthorized dealer of audio
equipment.
My third problem was that my Sony box did not come sealed.
When I told Tom that I had no warranty card and that the
Sony box did not come sealed, he said that no audio
equipment ever comes sealed. What the hell is he talking
about? I have audio equipment by Sony, Marantz, Klipsch,
Adcom, and B&W. They were all sealed when I received them
- both from mail order and at retail stores.
I have noticed a small number of extremely negative reviews
about One Call. I am currently of the opinion that most
people have favorable comments because they are requesting
generic products that require very little attention.
However, once a problem arises with One Call, I bet the
percentage of satisfied customers is very low. They did
nothing to resolve any of my issues. They did not even
provide constructive advice or words of support.

Ordered a Toshiba 2107 DVD player from them. It arrived in
2 days, as advertised, in a very sturdy double-box and with
a price that couldn't be beat. They were also relatively
friendly on the phone. After a horrible mail order
experience with the unfriendly people at Reference Audio
Video, I was about to swear off buying electronics in this
manner. One Call has restored my faith in the process and
will receive my business again.

If you know what you want, get it here. Courteous service and super fast
delivery. I ordered Cal DX2 from this place for $535 delivered,
including 2nd day Sat. Fedex delivery! I gave them a call on Thursday,
received it 9 am on Saturday. What can I say. I saved over $150 on the
unit. Make sure you know what you want though, they will charge 20%
restocking fee if you return a nondefective item. When I need to make
a purchase, I will always call this place first.

seattle to connecticut. I love these guys and will use them when I

I ordered a Sony EP9ES Dolby Digital Decoder and some Audioquest cables
from One Call last Friday (12/12). I was promised receipt of the goods
on Tuesday (12/16). On Tuesday, all items were delivered as promised in
brand new factory sealed cartons. Service over the phone was excellent.
When I first called to check on the price, the salesperson was knowledgable
and very helpful. He also informed me that the salespeople are not on
commission, so it didn't matter who I talked to when and if I called back
to place an order. This was nice, no high pressure sales garbage.
Overall, service was excellent. They offered one of the best prices in
the country and delivered as promised. I will be buying a new Toshiba
3107 DVD player next month. One Call will definitely be getting that order!

This was my 1st experience w/ Mail Order and it was great!
Mike (and Rick) @ One Call were extremely knowledgable and
helpful. Ordered a Sony Hi-8 camcorder (pricey!)and saved
OVER $400 vs best price locally. Placed order yesterday noon
and paid extra ($15) to ship 'overnight'. Got here @ 3:00
today (thru a moderate blizzard I might add!) Added a 5-Year
warranty for great price. Nice experience...will order from
them again soon! I will say that they are quick and to the
point(but friendly), so have your questions ready and do
some research on what you want prior to your call.

Purchased a receiver (HK
AVR20MKII) on tuesday. They said
it would arrive in 2-3 days (i.e.
saturday/monday). Arrived on
monday, double box, receiver works
fine. Good service overall. Negative
point: when I asked about the price
they didn't tell me anything about
shipping cost (I actually thought it
was included, but it's not - I had to
pay extra $20). Even with a
shipping+ price is very good, I think.
I would recommend them. Didn't see
better company anyway.

I ordered a Sony CCD-TR930. They had them in stock at a
price $200 lower than local stores and $50 less than other
mail order I checked. I needed the camera quick and had it
shipped overnite for an additional $10. I placed the order
at 1pm (PA) and received it by lunch the next day as

perfect condition. The price was extremely competitive
(they matched Costco's price for the model BELOW the one I
got!) I talked to two different people, both of whom were

I just purchased a set of Atlantic Technology 250M speakers from One Call
and I'm very impressed. They arrived a day earlier than quoted and
shipping was surprisingly cheap for such a heavy set of speakers. The
speakers were double boxed. My only very minor complaint is that the outer
box (theirs) could not have withstood much more punishment. It was heavily
taped together and there was foam leaking at the corners. This may have
been the fault of fed ex though. The inner boxes were perfect and the
equuipment works great.
They offered a slightly blemished front speaker version for $65 less and
the salesperson assured me it would be very minor so I went for it. Boy
was he right, I've looked all over them and can't find so much as a smudge.
These particular speakers were offered with a money back guarantee (no
restocking fee). Their other products have a 25% restocking fee and this
would bother me a bit, but for my experience I'd rate these guys Very Good.

I recently bought an ADCOM GFA-5500 power amp from One Call
and I was very pleased with their service. I got a great
price and they shipped it 2nd day with a Saturday delivery
vis Fed Ex and I got it on time. The AMP works and sounds
great. I would say that One Call worked well for me and I
will use them again when I get around to bying more stuff.

I had a problem with a Pioneer DVD player they sold me.
Their response was very unhelpful, and weeks later I still
don't have a working player. Their only remedy after buying
a product is 15% restocking fee -- even if the product has
fatal design flaws. Buyer beware, and don't buy from THESE

on Wednesday. Speakers arrived Friday, everything works fine.
Also asked a quote on Kenwood 1080 receiver, Bill told me it
is sold out and if I like they will put me on the waiting
list. There is no charge and no obligation to be put on the
list. From my experience this is one of the best mail order
company that consistently give me excellent prices and
service.

After a lot of trouble with another mail order company,
I called One Call and they matched the price on a pair of Infinity SM105 speakers.
They were friendly, professional, and promised me the items were in stock and
would be shipped out that day. I checked with FedEx today and, like they promised,
they are on the way. This is a great company.

Ordered on Friday, arrived on Tuesday via two-day FedEx as promised.
Quotes on DVD players appear to be just as low and
perhaps best prices out there. AC3 decoder arrived in good shape,
sealed box, full manufacturer warranty.

I ordered a receiver and changed my mind shortly after it arrived.
Since I had not opened the product box, and wanted to exchange
for a different receiver, they were willing to reduce the 15%
restocking fee to 5%. Although I had to pay the return shipping
and the restocking fee, I was dealt with in a friendly and professional
manner. Only complaint is that they should have mentioned
the return policy/restocking when I place the first order.

I am writing this letter to vent my frustration with One Call as well as explain my position
as why I will never order another product from your company. Sometimes it is difficult to know
whether a mail order company is trustworthy but after reading the good remarks about your company
I decided to place an order for a Denon 3200 receiver. However, after my experience with One Call
I will do my future business elsewhere.
Approximately a month ago, lightning came into my house through the cable. The items damaged in
this storm were a TV, two VCR's, a surround sound decoder, and a 120 W amp. The surround sound
decoder and amplifier were not repairable so after reading about various receivers I decided I
would get a Denon 3200 receiver. I live in a small town so it is somewhat difficult to purchase
many electronic items locally so mail order is this best way to go. After reading favorable posts
about One Call, I decided to order a Denon 3200 receiver. On Wednesday May 21, I placed an order
with Mike. He quoted me a price of $954.00. He also said he would call me if the item was out of
stock. The next day he called and left a message on my answering machine stating that the item was
out of stock and to let him know whether or not I wanted to purchase the Denon 3200 through One Call.
I returned the call that same day (Thursday) and Mike told me that the distributor was out of stock
on the Denon 3200 but would have another supply by the middle of next week. I told Mike that if they
would match J & R's slightly lower price that I would like to continue my order with One Call. Mike
agreed to this. I then asked him what my new order number would be and he stated that he didn't know
at that time, as he would have to do a new purchase. This phone call occurred on Thursday May 22. If
I had been wise I would have told him to cancel the order right then and there. However, I assumed by
then end of the next week I would have this receiver.
As I have stated earlier, my electronic items were damaged by a lightning strike. These items are
covered under my insurance policy, which includes replacement cost. On Wednesday, May 28, I received
a call from an individual who works with insurance companies on replacing items. He has direct access
to electronic distributors in purchasing electronic equipment. I spoke with him at approximately 12:30
p.m. eastern time. I told him about my purchasing the Denon receiver through One Call and he said
that he could get it cheaper through his distributor. As he was working directly with the insurance
company, I told him I would call One Call and see if I could cancel my order and then get back in
touch with him. I then proceeded to call One Call. I believe I talked to Ralph (I couldn't swear
to it in a court of law but it sounded like his voice) and asked him if my order had been shipped.
He said that it went out this morning and I should receive it either Wednesday (May 28) or Thursday.
I then proceeded to call the individual working for the insurance company and state that I didn't
need him to find the Denon 3200 receiver as One Call had already shipped this receiver to me. I
then called the insurance claims adjuster and stated that I had purchased this receiver. Looking
back, I never should have called her, however, I trusted the individual at One Call that the receiver
had been shipped.
After I returned from work on May 29, there was no box left in the garage or no note from Federal
Express stating that I had a package. As the individual I spoke with at One Call the day before
had stated that the package would be at my house on Thursday at the latest I decided to call One
Call. Mike answered the phone and I asked him if the receiver had been shipped. He at first asked
me if I changed my mind on this order and I then told him what I have written earlier about the price
change and that I continued my order. My guess is that Mike never wrote another order. He also
stated that the distributor had run out of Denon 3200 receivers and it would be next week before he
would have any receivers in. He then asked me if I would like to continue the order. I then stated
I would check with the man working for the insurance company with replacing items and then get back
with him. After thinking about how One Call has totally botched this purchase, I decided I would
go ahead and then call back and cancel the order. Ralph then answered the phone. I told him I would
like to cancel the order. Ralph stated that he would have to check with the distributor to make sure
of the status of the order. Ralph also stated that the computer at One Call showed that the item has
been shipped as far as One Call is concerned but he would have to check with the distributor first
before he could cancel the order and perform an internal return authorization. As it was after
five o'clock on the east coast, which is where I live, Ralph said he would have to wait until the next
day to confirm the status of the order with the distributor. Approximately ten minutes later, Ralph
called me back and stated that Mike had already performed an internal return authorization last week
and that my order had been cancelled last week.
There are several elements of this whole miserable process that have me very disgruntled at One Call.
First, evidently after Mike had performed the internal return authorization he never reordered the
reciever even though I had instructed him to do so and we had agreed to the new price. Second, I
was told that the receiver had been shipped when in actuality the receiver had never been reordered.
I do no understand why since according to Ralph a internal return authorization had already been
performed. Third, Ralph first tells me that according to One Call's computer that the item has been
shipped and then later he calls me and tells me that an internal return authorization was done last
week and the order had been cancelled then. Perhaps One Call's computer system needs to upgraded in
order not to give out conflicting reports. Or perhaps the salespeople at One Call do not understand
the computer system. Perhaps Mike didn't like the lowering of the price and didn't order it for that
reason. In any event, these errors have left me frustrated and angry at your company. Fourth, do
not tell customers that the item has been shipped when in fact you do not know. Check with the
distributor first. If he has shipped the product, then tell the customers that it has been shipped.
This is very misleading and frustrating to the customer. However, in my case the salesman shouldn't
have had to check with the distributor as my order had been cancelled. Fifth, I do not understand
why I was told that the receiver had been shipped when the order had been cancelled a week ago. Ralph
stated that even though his computer at One Call had shown that the item had been shipped that the
distributor may not have shipped it yet. If this is the case, I never should have been told that the
receiver had been shipped. Especially since the order had been cancelled a week earlier. And finally,
Ralph had told me over the phone that it would take a little while to call the distributor in the
morning because he was going to be short handed and had to help other customers first. This made me
feel as my order wasn't nearly important as all those other customers. I can understand perhaps for
local customers you might want to help first but I would have thought a customer who tried to purchase
an item a week ago would have very high priority. I guess I was wrong on that matter as well.
As stated earlier, I am disappointed, frustrated, and very angry at One Call. So much so, I will
never even attempts to order another product from One Call. I do not care for your disorganized and
misleading statements that One Call's salesmen have performed with this attempted purchase. If your
company is this disorganized in their mail order department or your computer system is this messed up,
it is my opinion that One Call needs to get out of the mail order business. I have mail ordered many
items in the past and have never had any problem with any of the companies because I like to deal with
reputable companies. I thought One Call was a reputable company but that turned out not to be the case.
To put a final nail in the coffin, Ralph suggested I try Sound City as a mail order source for the
Denon 3200. I called Sound City and they do not even carry the Denon 3200. Even when your Company
tries to be helpful, they fail miserably. I know I have made my last call to One Call.

I received a defective receiver from them (kenwood 990d). I spent a lot of time
talking to a customer service rep (Tom?). I tried everything that he suggested to
correct the problem. Since my first call was before the 7 day defective return policy
expired I was ultimately given an RMA number. Tom seemed quite put out when I refused to
exchange the receiver (there were multiple things wrong with it) and said that I
would only be given a full credit if they could confirm that it was defective.
It took over a month for their service department to test the unit. They did find
it to be defective and I received notification that a credit would be issued. I
won't get the statement for that card until the end of June, I'll check it then to
see how long it actually takes to post the credit.
It seems to me that a month is an excessive amount of time to hold up a big chunk
a customers credit (~$800). They should have been able to examine the unit and
determine the problem much more quickly than that. It only took me about 1/2 hour
to figure out that I couldn't easily correct the symptom.
