Never actually purchased from this company, mainly because they wouldn't match a competetive price on the Harman/Kardon AVR40. So I purchased it from the company with a lower price, who gets their H/K products from authorized dealers. I would not buy from EDL as their prices are far from the best and they do NOT claim to be authorized dealers of their products. This does not make it illegal for them to sell, just that you the customer do not get a warranty.

I have not purchased any products from this company, because they seem to be unreachable. The phone number listed on their Web page (817-561-7459) works, but I have only been able to get their answering system. I left a message for the salesman (Eric) but he never returned my call. Another interesting point is that they advertise B&W speakers, which I noticed are on your list of companies who don't allow their products to be sold through mail order. To make things even worse, the EDL Wab page lists B&W products which have been discontinued on the American market for a year (the P-series speakers.) The prices are very competitive, a little below retail, but my opinion is that instead of taking the risk of buying from EDL Inc., I'd rather pay the extra 10% at my local audio store, where I know the salespeople, and they stand behind what they sell.

I purchased a satellite TV system from EDL in Sept of 97. I know this does not fall into the Audio category, but they do sell Audio products and this could happen to you too. The price listed was 299.95 with a 200.00 rebate. I had called the company to place my order since at the time, they did not accept secure credit card transactions. It took a week to get a hold of someone since they had an answering machine tending the phones. I was skeptical from this so when I did place the order, I did as a COD and not credit card. A week later I received the product and it works great. The problem is that I have not yet received my rebate. Last December, I was told "the check is in the mail". Today, they no longer respond to my inquiries so I have now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

This company cheated customer's money by saying that they will take 3% off from the original price if the customer pays cash or check. After the salesmen got the money, they held the money, never shiped out the ordered product, and never did the refund to the customer if the customer asked for. Until the customer pursued any possible legal action against the company, four monthes later, the company said "it was a mistake".

Ture Story: I bought Bose LifeStyle 901 from EDL Satellite & Home Theater company in Arlington Tx, via InterNet, on Feb 13, 1998 and paid $3,385.30 in full at the same day. One month later, I had to cancel the order because the company never shiped out the product I ordered. From that day on, I waited for the refund check and got disappointed, then I turned to purpuse any possible legal actions against the company. Today, April 27, I haven't received my $3,385.30 refund check, yet.
