My experience was really good. They are honest and upfront about pricing and availability, and the products arrived at my door double boxed in perfect condition on the day promised. Have also bought photo equipment from them in the past without ever having a problem. They just don't carry too much in the audio line though.

I contacted Camera World after seeing a post in the SRM forums. I purchased the Panasonic DVDA110 player which at the moment is very hard to find. They had the best price of anyone that I called. I placed a back order as the unit was not in stock, but expected in a few days.

The unit arrived on the day they said it would, double boxed. I like the DVD so well that I ordered a second one from them for another room in my house.

would have rated CWO "Very Good" but it took 2 months and an official "in dispute" request hassle with my credit card company to delete the "5-yr warranty" charges off my card after i changed my mind and called them a day after ordering a camcorder and told them i didn't want it, after all...of course i got "no problem, we'll take care of it" repeatedly from CWO phone reps but the charges were removed only when VISA called them. i rate the VISA response higher than CWO in this case!!

But yes, i would use them again. I am going to buy a digicam soon and plan to use CWO.

I ordered a camcorder over the weekend. The camcorder arrived on Wednesday a day before it was promised. The package arrived double boxed, signature was required for delivery. The camcorder is brand new and in excellent condition. I would not hesitate to use Camera World of Oregon again.

Have used them many times for video and camera equipment. You may pay a bit more but you get USA warranties, factory sealed boxes and honest service. Shipping is typically same day or next day. They double box and you can usually negotiate a bit with them if you know of a lower price somewhere else reputable or are buying multiple items. I buy a lot of mail order and have learned if it seems too good to be true, it often is. Camera World is typically cheaper than even the deepest discount retail stores but not as low as some of the sleazy NY/NJ outfits. After you deal with someplace like Camera World (or Crutchfield) you wonder why the others can get away with being so bad...

I ordered a camera of Canon Elan IIE-QD and lens 38-105mm USM last Dec from CWO. My salesman is Carl. I recommend CWO. They did not push sales on the phone and shipped by UPS ahead of schedule. Items were well packed in a foam filled box.
I had a bad experience with the other company of NYC where the salesman tried to push sale items I was not comfortable. The price looks lower on the adv. but it is end-up higher.
You can count on CWO.

These guys double shipped me and double charged me. I called customer service to complain and was told they wouldn't credit back my account until they had the second unit back even if it was their fault. This caused my bank account (paid by Visa check card) to be overdrawn $390.00 + a bank fee. Customer service said that was "policy" however when I threatened to call the BBB and said that I would sue them for any bank charges the "policy" instantly changed and the called my bank and credited me back the money. I don't call this "customer service." You can't beat the price, but you can beat the service.

I've purchased several electronics items from CameraWorld over the past few years and I recommend them highly. Recently I just purchased a Sony STR-DE915 Dolby Digitial A/V receiver from them. It arrived on the day they stated, double boxed in perfect condition. No hassles or problems whatsoever. The price was better than EVERYWHERE else I called. They have a great return policy (although I've never tried to use it) and are an authorized dealer for Sony and others.

I'll use them again I'm sure.

They had great prices on JVC SVHS VCRs. I ordered one online. Later I sent an email asking about the status of my order, they responded in less than an hour with the tracking number. The package came double boxed and the price was actually $10 less than advertised.

I've had very good experirences with these folks over the past couple of years. I've bought a camcorder and had to return it. I was given 100% credit toward the purchase of another unit. Prices are higher than east coast mail order houses, but then the service is much better!!!

Very pleasant experience as opposed to most of the mail order places I had to deal w/ on the east-coast. Straight to the point, not pushy, knowledgeable. I selected UPS ground for shipping and they called me 2 days later to confirm the shipping address which meant that they hadn't sent the merchandise. When I voiced my concerns that it would not make it by the date they promised, they upgraded the shipping to a 2-day air for FREE. That's the kind of service you expect from a serious company. I did and would recommend Camera world.
