Plan:
Job: Network Programmer, Battlezone 2, developed by Pandemic Studios http://www.pandemicstudios.com , published by Activision http://www.activision.com [Note: in this, I am *NOT* speaking officially for either of those, I'm only speaking for myself.]

5/13/00: One of the major annoyances with the 1.2 beta series (now up to b27) is an occasional 'All players lost recyclers and factories' early exit from a MPI game when this is not the case. This has been reported a bunch of times, but it's always seemingly random. If at all possible, those of you with b27, I'd like to see if you can get a case of this that happens fairly reliably.

[And there's no info in the .log file about this; don't bother sending those in. A recording might have enough info to nail it down; if you put

/record earlyexit.bin

on the BZ2 shortcut properties line (not console), and exit to windows between games (to refresh that record file), that may work.]

5/5/00: Drop by http://www.pandemicstudios.com/bzii/downloads.htm for a little bit of a new treat. I quote from that page:

Wondered how to make a multiplayer DLL for Battlezone 2? Wondering how to make a DLL compatible with BZ2 1.2? [Not officially released yet] Check out this handy archive, which includes the complete source code for BZ2 1.2's Deathmatch DLL, and a MS Visual C++ project to build it. This is unsupported source code, but should provide a good start to making your own.

Have fun!

5/3/00: While the 1.2 patch for BZ2 has *NOT* officially yet been released, I've updated my nettips document at http://www.visi.com/~nathan/bz2/nettips.html to cover some of the things in it. [Obligatory disclaimer: The features of 1.2 are subject to change, and this document may not bear any resemblance to the official 1.2 patch.] Don't ask me where to find it, but some of the fansites and discussion boards have links to the leaked betas.
