Material

3906B size 14 Mustad hook
fine copper wire
dark brown turkey quill
black goose biots
dark brown rabbit dubbing
black rabbit dubbing

To Tie

1) Mix black and dark brown rabbit dubbing in equal portions
2) Cut a very thin strip of turkey quill and coat with flex cement
3) Start black or brown thread near front of hook and wind towards bent catching in the fine wire and the thin strip of turkey quill
4) At the hook bent make a very small ball of dubbing. Tie on 2 goose biots that splay to each side around the dubbing ball.
5) Dub 2/3 way up the hook
6) Pull the turkey quill strip forward and wind the wire around it and the dubbed body
7) Cut the wire at the end of the dubbing (2/3 up).
8) Wind thread around the dubbed body and turkey quill 2 turns.
9) Dub the rest of way up the hook to just before the eye. Make this last 1/3 larger in diameter than previous 2/3.
10) Pull turkey quill forward a tie off at hook eye
11) Pick out thorax
