T.M.I.L.S.M.S. Nymph
(Three Mile Island Long-eared Short-tailed Mutant Squirrel Nymph)
This very deadly nymph is primarily composed of the dubbing taken from this
rare species of squirrel, sofar only sighted three times. A nocturnal creature
whose sole distinctive trait is the fact it glows in the dark. The pelt
in my possession is, as far as I am aware, unique in the world. Fiercely
corrosive properties dictate the use of a specially created hook, as traditional
bronzed or nickel plated hooks melt on contact...
And if you believe all of the above, perhaps I can sell you some pre-owned
cow magnets also ;-)
Olive GRHE Nymph
Hook: #10-16
Thread: Black or olive
Weight: Lead wire
Tail: Dark olive partridge fibers, fairly short
Rib: Fine copper wire
Body: Olive-dyed hare's mask
Wingcase: Peacock herl
Thorax: Olive-dyed hare's ear
(Materials are listed in the order they are tied in)
Nymphs are most vulnerable close to hatching. Regardless of their overall
color, their wingcases darken to near black. I think trout key in on this.
Peacock herl gives me both the color and the movement I want to achieve.
Hope you do as well with the nymph as it has done for me ;-)
