Red Fox Squirrel Nymph
Note: I learned this pattern at the Fly and Field commercial Web site (http://www.flyfield.com/).
Dave Whitlock, the inventor, has it written up there and has some pictures
of how the nymph should look. I have no affiliation with this company.
Nymph hook -- I used a Mustad 9671 size 14 weight with thin lead wire
tail - red fox squirrel guard hairs tied short
rib - fine gold wire
abdomen - red fox squirrel belly fur blended with a little tan synthetic
dubbing - I used Midwest light tan.
thorax - red fox squirrel back fur with guard hairs.
