Red Fox Squirrel Fur Hackle

hook:   Mustad 3906B or equivalent
thread: black or red 8/0
tail:   red fox squirrel
body:   hare's mask and Antron mix
hackle: red fox squirrel

Tie on thread at eye and wind back to bend. Tie in a small bunch of squirrel fur for tail. Form dubbing loop and dub body with hare's mask+Antron (using a loop allows body to be "buggier") up to about the 85% point. wax thread with dubbing wax and lay fox squirrel hairs along thread like a fence. Complete dubbing loop and spin counter clock wise. Wind on 3 or 4 turns of squirrel hair, stroking backwards after each turn. Tie down and form head. Whip finish.
