Mymph

Thread: To match body color
Hook: #8-#12 straight eye streamer
Weight: Lead wire or substitute
Tail: Rabbit/hare gueard hairs and two straws of smooth, clear flash
Body: Rear half dubbed w. rabbit/hare underfur, Front half dubbed w. rabbit/hare w. flash mixed in
Hackle: Dubbing loop w. rabbit/hare guard hair, 3-4 turns

Instructions:

- Wrap two layers of lead wire on one third of hook lenght approx. one eye width from eye
- Start thread just behind lead
- Cover lead w. a smooth layer of thread (Use figure of eight wraps in the beginning)
- Tie in tail. The hair is approx half body lenght and the two straws of flash a bit longer
- Cover rear end of body with a tapered layer of dubbing
- Form a dubbing loop and put aside
- Cover lead and front half of body with dubbing mixed w. flash
- Trap short guard hairs in dubbing loop and spin
- Make 3-4 open turns over the front half of the body
- Tie down loop and finish with a small head

Color can be all from black to light tan. I prefer the dark browns and tan. I normally use a dubbing type of flash for the body (Like Angel hair) in a light reddish color.
