Hook: Mustad 9672 sz10
Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: Hare's mask
Body: Grey Squirrel dubbing
Rib: Copper wire
Weight: Lead wraps
Thorax: Black Rabbit or SLF
Hackle: Brown Grouse or mottled Hen Back
1. Wrap thread from eye to bend.
2. Wrap lead over middle third of shank and secure with thread.
3. Tie in a tail of about 1/4 shank lenght.
4. Tie in the rib.
5. Dub a tapered body 2/3 up the shank.
6. Reverse wrap the rib. Tie off and clip excess.
7. Dub a fat thorax leaving room for the hackle and head.
8. Strip off fluff from bottom of the feather stem.
9. Tie the tip in dull side down.
10. Make 3 turns stroking hackle fibers back on each turn.
11. Tie off the hackle stem and clip the excess.
12. Wrap a head with the thread and whip finish (head cement optional).
