Comments
Although I have seen Pearlescent Crystal Flash used as a wingcase on this
fly, my flyshop proprietor and Hans Weilenmann both say a DARK wing case
gives the fly a "mature, ready to hatch" appearance that fish
like. Reverse wrap the ribbing to prevent the body from coming apart if
a trout's teeth cut the thread. I don't pick out the thorax dubbing for
legs. Why weaken the dubbing for a minor attempt at realism when the fly
has a gold bead for a head? This pattern has been my #1 fish-taker for two
years running.
