T(TOTAL) CDC BWO

I tied up another unusual pattern....I call it the Total CDC BWO in a size
#20. It is a simple pattern that floats low in the surface film...I guarantee
it can catch fish, though my rendition isn't as pretty as some...(I'm still
a newby at tying in general!)
Hook: #16 to #22 Dry Fly hook
Thread: Finer grades (#8) of Medium Olive
Tail: 2-3 Mallard Flank fibers, slightly longer than the body.
Dubbing: Cut up into small pieces with scissors the CDC feathers
off the stems....amounts: 3/4 olive and 1/4 gray and mix
well, then Dub on like any dubbing...Trim close any
exaggerated fluff on top and sides, but leave a little
loose on the bottom.
Ribbing: Wind the same thread to give slight segmented look.
Wing: Dun/Gray CDC tips, fairly sparce tied in just behind the
head like a Caddis wing. and trimmed vertically from top
point to about the end fo the body to give the silloutte
of the wing.
Tie in olive head, whip finish and give a small dab of head cement to finish.
Note, The head finish might work onto the base of the CDC wing, but this
is fine, in that it helps support the shape of the wing. Of course, do not
use regular fly floatant on this fly. Very Simple/Easy Pattern to tie.
