Trilla, the untold story..sorta

Cotholdering

Trilla was born in a small cothold in Keroon, where she joined her mother, father and older brother in a simple farming life. The four of them lived quite happily for several turns, until, when Trilla was bout five, her mother died while giving birth to another child. That child died as well, and after pulling himself out of his stunned grief and into a very large case of denial, Trilla's father packed up her, her brother and a few things, leaving the cothold in small trading wagon.

Tradering

Her father had no experience with trading, and, in fact, had very little talent for it whatsoever. As a result they were always quite poor, and usually forced to wander incessantly from one small holding to another. The two children grew, as children are wont to do, and because of their association with other trader families, they learned quite a bit about the business.

And so time passed. Trilla's brother married a girl from one of the other families, and he and his wife took charge of the trading. Trilla's father didn't object much -- they were better at it, and anyway, it was the wandering which attracted him, not the barter. Trilla herself was still content to just follow along with the rest of them.

When she turned sixteen turns, Trilla was beginning to wonder what she ought to do with her life. She didn't feel trading was really for her, but she didn't know what else she could do either. It was that feeling of discontent that eventually brought her to the healercraft, where she met then Craftsecond Pippa, who accepted her as an apprentice.
