This is about Emmitt's third season, (ya see the pattern
developing here). He talks about how he got somewhat mad,
beacause he wanted to renogiate his contract before it was up
at the end of the season. Briefly talked about were Mike
Singletary, (retirement) and Jerome Brown, (sad death). Also,
stats for the games, but not the playoffs.
Book Excerpt:
Personally, I take my preseason training very seriously,
but the games are another matter. I wouldn't even play if the
choice were mine. Since I have to, my main goal is staying
healthy. In my opinion, the NFL needs only one exhibition game
(or at most, two). In 1992, with our five exhibition games,
sixteen more in the regular season, and three in the playoffs,
the Dallas Cowboys played twenty-four games. That's a lot of
chances for players to get injured, and for NFL fans to miss
out when those players do. Since they don't count for anything
anyway, why not chop off a few games at the beginning?
