It's hard to say excatly why some backs are better receivers
than others. Like running with the ball, I think a lot of it
is instinct; you're either a natural receiver or you're not.
Having good concentration is also important. So is having
good hands. But I'll tell you one thing that often gets overlooked:
whether or not a guy can run disciplined routes. I mean this
for all receivers, not just running backs. Because no matter
how fast or tough a receiver is, a sloppy route will usually
kill a pass play. ...
