This chapter talks about the famous game on January 2, 1994. You know the game where
Emmitt suffered a grade-two shoulder seperation and continued to play. He led his team to
a victory and got himself a third straight rushing title. The chapter gives us a good idea
on how Emmitt was feeling on this day.
Book Excerpt:
"My entire career," John Madden said, "I've never come down to the
locker room. I came down today to shake your hand. I've never seen a better performance
than that."
Although I was thinking, Wow, I only said, "Thank You."
A minute or two after John walked out, Jimmy Johnson stopped in before addressing the
media. Looking extremely excited about our huge win, he told me I did "a heck of a
job." Then Jimmy patted me on my bad shoulder! I just looked at him and said,
"Thanks, Coach."
