About Us

Lebanon Lodge is no longer the youngest Lodge in Minnesota; there are now Lodges #347, #348 and #349. However, it is very possible that the average age of our membership still makes us the youngest Lodge.

Our goals are to serve our community and to help men grow in Masonry.

Serving our community

Our primary charitable activity is sponsoring an annual $750 scholarship for men and women wishing to attend vocational schools. This scholarship is in memory of W.B. Norm Schirmer. In 2002, we made grants of $150 each, matched by the Minnesota Masonic Foundation, to five students nominated by the Dakota County Technical College.

As funds permit, we provide equipment for local elementary schools and donate to local food shelves.

We also have limited funds to assist Job's Daughters, Rainbow Girls, and DeMolay. Most recently, we have made grants to help young ladies attend the Grand Bethel Fall INN.

Helping men grow in Masonry

We attempt to find men of all ages who are already "Masons in their hearts" and provide them with the opportunity to become part of the Masonic Fraternity. If you think you might be one of these, please contact one of our officers.

As a small, young, and growing Lodge, we work with our newest members to enable them to participate in ritual, in our charitable activities, and in our fund-raising. More importantly, new members are welcomed into every activity of the Lodge and have many opportunities to serve as appointed or elected officers. While this is not a purpose of Masonry directly, this offers many opportunities to learn and apply leadership skills.

We know that the areas we serve (Eagan, Burnsville, and Apple Valley) are growing communities. If you are a Mason who has moved here and have not yet found a Lodge, please consider yourself to be welcome at any of our stated meetings or any of our degrees.

When we meet

The stated meetings of Lebanon Lodge are on the second Tuesdays of each month, beginning at 7:00 P.M., excluding June, July, and August when we are dark.

There is also a very informal "meeting" on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Cherokee Steak House Sports Barn at the intersection of 77 and Cliff Rd (across from Doolittles). Cedarvale Lanes at the corner of Rahn Rd. and Beau D'Reau Dr. (I'm certain I did not spell that last right.) We meet on the patio.

This meeting is open to everyone. We especially invite men who are interested in becoming Masons.

  Where we meet

As a small, young, and growing Lodge, we do not have a Lodge hall. While this is inconvenient, it at least saves us the expense of building maintenance.

We meet at at Minnesota River Valley Lodge #6, 100 ½ First Avenue East, Shakopee, MN. This is right on the main drag in Shakopee. It is located upstairs between the bakery and the Real Gem jewelery store. This is just down the block from Turtle's Bar and Grill. Coming into Shakopee from the east on Highway 101, take a left turn at the traffic light that has a sign saying "<- First Avenue".

Our mailing address is P.O. Box 22154, Eagan, MN 55122.

The Lebanon Lodge Library

The library now has over 30 books available for the use of our members. Thanks to W.B. Mike Olson loaning us 29 of his own books! There are books of interest to all Masons - from the newly-made Mason to the lodge officer (or would-be officer) to past Masters. Whether you are looking for facts, history, handbooks, or just good speculative reading try checking out a book for a month. It may renew your interest in our gentle Craft and will surely be a source of further Light in Masonry! The card catalog will be at both monthly meetings - stated and Fellowship. The library also has issues of Northern Light, the quarterly publication of the Northern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite: an excellent publication.

The library is physically available at Bro. Ted Martz's home.
