John and Charles -- some background
![]() |
My brother, Charles (that's
him on the left), and I were born in September 1965. We have a lot in
common, but we're also each our own
person. Aided at the beginning by understanding parents who named us individually,
rather than going the easy "rhyming/alliteration" route, we developed
into two unique (yet eerily similar in some ways) personalities. I was
the rebel, starting in those awkward Jr. high years, strongly resisting
any identification as just "one of a pair". Time mellowed me
out a bit. It was still a little difficult for girlfriends to understand
why on earth two adults would share a bank account. Seemed perfectly natural
to me at the time. One year, out of curiousity, we decided to check out Twins Days in Twinsburg, Ohio. It blew our minds. We keep coming back for more! Over the next few years, I discovered hundreds of other twins on the web. Now, the web is so huge that I don't bother searching for them any more -- there are just too many! By the way, no, we never dated the same girl. No, we never switched classes. No, we don't have a psychic link. No, we can't tell you what it's like being a twin (what's it like NOT being a twin?) |
