SPECIAL PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Conceptualized, initiated and facilitated enrollment and fundraising
promotion collaboration for the Minnesota Outward Bound School with CBS News,
Thalidomide Trust of Great Britain and Northwest Airlines. CBS Evening
News segment sensitively portrayed Outward Bound staff caring for and
teaching severely disfigured young people in the Minnesota wilderness.
"Breakthrough" broadcast and preemptory promotion resulted in
rapid surge in funding, enrollment and employment applications, and extensive
national/international media attention.
- Founded and for 11 years directed University of Minnesota multimedia
relations/promotion program and Broadcast Services Department. Seven-campus
liaison with all media. Designed, wrote multimedia promotion materials;
prepared, coached and placed administrators, faculty, researchers, students
and their projects on local, regional and network television and radio
newscasts and public affairs programs, and in education, specialty and
consumer publications.
- Conceptualized, designed and launched "Think Deep" direct mail
membership enrollment and identity promotion campaign for the newly founded,
University of Minnesota based, American Underground-Space Association.
Promotion resulted in overflow enrollment within three weeks to first
U.S. hosted international technology transfer exposition from diverse fields
(banking, community-to-sovereign governments, environment, defense, education,
housing, news and other feature media, medicine and health care,
community development, human services, architecture and design,
psychology/sociology, manufacturing, philanthropies, et al.)
- Edited The Phoenix, Greater Twin Cities area monthly 16-pg., 25,000
circulation specialty publication (Macintosh desktop produced) serving
medical, mental health and human services professionals, organizations
and their client markets. Researched, interviewed and wrote profiles,
news, feature and promotion articles on organizations, products,
services, activities and popular column "The Balancing Act."

- Conceptualized and developed "humanized" identity promotion theme and
marketing materials for the Stage Equipment Co. of America (SECOA). "The
People Behind The People Behind The Scenes" themed all presentation of
SECOA designers, client service and support teams and custom technologies
