Out West 2000
Some photos from my snowmobile trip to the backcountry surrounding Yellowstone Park:
We thought we'd really been stupid here. We had just dropped off the south side of Two Top Mountian toward Tygee Creek through the woods. We'd dropped beyond the point of no return, so we had to keep going down till we hit bottom. Well bottom turned out to be a creek (duh!). When we took this photo, if was getting dark and we were about to each start walking in a different direction to look for the trail that I thought should have been here. Luckily we found the trail pretty soon. Unluckily it was high on the ridge on the other side of the (open) creek. Luckily we were able to climb back into the woods enough to ride to where the trail crossed the creek. Whew!
This is fast becoming one of me favorite spots. We drop off the north side of Two Top mountain into the east fork of Denny Creek. I had to side hill this since I couldn't turn down (creek) and couldn't turn up (hill). As you can see, it took a few tries...

We had a lot of cloudy weather, and our new guy Mike was about to stop believing that the scenery was spectacular. Late in the week the weather broke and the last few days were gorgeous. Here I am on the Lion's Head mountain ridge.

Here I am on a big wind drift on Buck Creek Ridge. You 've got to pay attention when riding off trail!

Now that is a trench! I made this with my 98 RMK700 141". That's about as close as I've come to getting stuck and still made it. Yes I'm standing up.
