PETALS ON THE WIND
MY ZEN
Calm.
I am immersed in calm. The kind of calm which recognizes that all issues, all forces, all problems which attack my serenity are like mist, compared to life-threatening or truly long lasting dangers. A crisis has gravity only when viewed in the broadest of contexts; then appropriate concern is generously bestowed on it.
Self image.
I am an effective, positive, moral, empowered, intelligent
being. I do not need to accept excessive personal responsibility for chaos
beyond my control. I cheerfully accept responsibility for my shortcomings
because I never lose sight of the reality of my basic value.
On good days.
OLD WASEECU* PROVERBS, MYTHS, ETC.
The journey of writing occurs when the rubber of inspiration
hits the road of craft.
Don't think about what to write, write to find out what
you think.
A student once asked a great guru, "What is the meaning of Life and Death, Great One"
"Hey, lissen," the guru replied, "When you're
alive you do stuff. Dead, you don't do nothing."
*I am a full-blooded, three generation WASEECU. Our tribes have been encamped on the banks of the Charles River in Massachusetts from time immemorial. The name WASEECU derives as follows: W hite A nglo S axon E gghead E ast C oast U nitarian
