Download Level

This level is playable only on version 1.07 of StarCraft, available from Blizzard Software, and it requires the 1.05 patch available on their website to be applied. If you are an Amiga user, write to Blizzard software and ask them politely to port their game to the Amiga, that's the only advice I have. Remember, this sort of tactic has definitely worked in the past, so don't lose hope here.

About the Adventure

Elmo Raedermacher is a spy. Actually, specifically, he has been a spy. You enter the story at the fateful moment when his cover is blown, and he has only moments to choose his course of action, moments to live or to perish.

Elmo works for the local resistance, acting undercover as a planning engineer at the Meyer-Richs Military Depot. His task up until today has been to organize resource, personnel, and equipment delivery convoys for the Federalist Coalition of Associated Planets. His work has allowed him access to military plans, which he has turned over to the resistance whenever possible

Elmo's strategy thus far has been to include digital copies of these military plans as a hidden file located on the shipping orders he administers, courtesy of a revision to shipping software, authored by the local resistance. The resistance, then, only has to intercept a single shipment sent from the Meyer-Richs depot, sieze the contents, and load the shipping orders on their computer and decode the military plans.

This plan has been working quite well for over a year, but the FCAP has sent an internal auditor to the Meyer-Richs facility, as well as other facilities in the area, to investigate what the FCAP believes to be the work of trained spies.

No one with moderate security clearance and above will be overlooked in their audit, including Elmo. Building access has become tighter, and all privacy locks in the building have been disabled. Physical locks still exist for private offices, but keys were collected this morning. A patrol is making rounds collecting all non-military personnel for interview, and arrests will be made if there is any resistance.

Elmo had, as a precaution, secured a battle suit and infantry weapons several weeks ago, from a shipment that passed through this Depot, bound for a military campaign. The suit and weaponry are more advanced and powerful than the standard issue for Military Police, which accounts for the majority of soldiers at the Depot.

Your participation in the story begins just as Elmo has finished shutting down his computer systems and donning the military gear. Elmo will be found out in an interview, and worse, the local resistance will be compromised by his own private files. These files have been transfered to a modular computer. Unfortunately, the modular computer is attached to some broadcast equipment, which is the only thing in Elmo's office that wasn't bolted to the floor. In total, the equipment weighs over 140 kilograms, and is not very portable. Some sort of service vehicle will be needed to haul the equipment away. The Depot has several Service/Construction Vehicles which work as exo-suits. Perhaps these will be of help.

Gaming Tips

First off, this isn't your average StarCraft level. You command only one unit, you are outnumbered and outgunned, and there is no hope of reinforcements or rescue. On top of that, you do not have the same freedom of movement that your enemies do. However, you do have extensive computer knowledge, beyond that of the military staff, and this could work to your advantage. As you might expect, there are several computers at this depot.

The computers control security systems, doors, and surveillance. These are normally controlled by non-military staff with moderate security and above, people not unlike yourself. Because of the audit, most have been rounded up and are not at their stations. A rotation shift is in place in the Security Control room and at the Space Hangar. They are needed because the ongoing audit must not interfere with normal Depot operation.

If Elmo is identified by the patrols, he will most likely be apprehended or killed. If the files are not secured, and the modular computer system is found, it will be collected and analyzed, as it looks very suspicious, having been ripped from its wall mount and lying in the middle of the floor.

About the Author/Game

I will never cherish a Microsoft-infected computer. I do use them every day, though. I have created this adventure in my spare time after work, and at home with a borrowed computer. I own StarCraft, for the Microsoft platform. The artwork for this page was hastily assembled in Electronic Arts' Deluxe Paint V. It was web-authored on an Amiga. I have made two levels so far, but I think that's going to be it for a long while. I would appreciate any support or encouragement you may have for me.

This being said, enjoy the games. I think you will like the story content.
