Many moons ago, I received some FREE software for an online community called "The Sierra Netork" (TSN). The name was then changed to The ImagiNation Network (or INN for short). TSN/INN was my first online experience. (This was in the days before the Web became so popular!) I signed onto the system to try it out and I stumbled upon a room called "Married Life." Over the years I have met many wonderful folks there and I have played a couple games of Flip-Flop. (Flip-Flop is ImagiNation's version of Othello.)

"The Sierra Network (TSN)" In the Married Life room there was a bulletin board that was entitled "Palace Wit and Wisdom." Up to that time I had used my own name and wanted something unique to use in the Palace. An online friend of mine by the name of Sandie and I did some brainstorming one night and we came up with the name of "Hey You, Sir, Dear." (I wanted something that would be a "sir" for the palace. If memory serves me right I came up with the "Hey You, Sir" part and Sandie added the "Dear"!)
Ever since then I have used the name "HeyYouSir" when I was online. The name has taken on several variations depending on where I was using it. On TSN the online name length was limited, so I used "HeyYouSir". I signed notes on the Palace bulletin board using the fullname. Over time the name was abbreviated to HYSD to save typing.
TSN/INN eventually went the way of the dinosaur and I found myself gaining interest in the web and web page design. That is how this site came into being.
There was a time when I was really into web page awards (both giving and receiving them). One day I gave an award to a web page that was competing on the Knights of the Ring team. I followed the link... It was too cool... I have always liked knights and here was a team of knights that was fighting on the web! That was my introduction to web competitions... I joined the Knights of the Ring team and had alot of FUN riding along with them into battle over the years.

"HeyYouSir's calling card" In January, 2000 I got the idea of creating my own Vote Exchange Board to help other fighters out. From a simple beginning I continued to refine my VE Board... Today it's one of the best resources around to help people enjoy the experience of competing.
