Who Are Young Adults?
The young adult community is made up of people in their late teens, twenties, or thirties; single, married, divorced, or widowed; with or without children. They are present in every trade and profession. They live in the many communities that make up our society - from rural areas to small towns to large metropolitan areas. They come from diverse cultural, ethnic, educational, vocational, social, political and spiritual realities.
Mission Statement
The Archdiocesan Young Adult Ministry Team (YAMT) is comprised of adults of all ages, involved in a variety of ministries at the parish, organizational and Archdiocesan level.
The Archdiocesan Young Adult Ministry Team exists to coordinate ministry with young adults in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Young adult ministry encourages all men and women in their 20's and 30's to live, share, and grow in the Catholic faith, embracing and integrating Gospel values in their lives.
In the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, the Archdiocesan Young Adult Ministry Team is a resource, support and advocate for young adult ministry where it already exists and a catalyst for young adult ministry where it does not exist.
What We're Doing
Our Young Adult Ministry Team is dedicated to the implementation of the U.S. Bishops' pastoral plan in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. We are in the process of developing our plan to make the Bishop's pastoral plan an active part of all aspects of ministry with young adults on the diocesan level and also in our parishes and on our college campuses. Input from those who attend both the monthly Young Adult Ministry Network gatherings and our three Town Meetings will be used in developing our plan.
We are committed to providing those in ministry with young adults the most current resources, publications and innovations in the field.
We hold regular meetings which are open to anyone interested in young adult ministry.
When do we meet?
We usually meet every month on the first Monday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Check our calendar for specific dates and locations.
How do I join?
It's easy - just show up. You'll join others interested in implementation of the U.S. Bishops' pastoral plan here in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
It's totally free and open to anyone interested in ministering with young adults - all faiths are welcome.
