JBuilder hangs when I select Tools/IDE Options/Display. |
| When you select the Display tab, JBuilder asks the JVM for a list of
available fonts. If any of those font files are damaged, the JVM
will hang.
The solution is to find and replace the damaged font file, but this can be difficult. The first step I take is to force Windows to refresh all of the standard font files. Open the Display controls, and change the Large/Small Font setting. Make sure the change takes effect, then change it back. This will force Windows to reload the font files and should take care of the problem.
If it doesn't, the few font files provided with the JVM itself may be damaged.
Fixing those may require reinstalling the JDK.

| Another possiblity is that your fonts folder has shortcuts in it.

| It is important to note that the process does take a long time to complete and that it can spend quite a long time on a single font. If you think it has hung up, note the font that it is working on and then wait 5 minutes to see if it makes any progress.
