How can I set the icon for an executable built with JBuilder's Native Executable Builder? |
|
This refers to setting the icon that will be displayed in the Windows explorer for the executable .EXE file. This is not the same thing as setting the icon displayed in the application's frame when the program runs. Windows Explorer takes the icon from a resource in the executable file, and resources are normally linked into the executable. Since JBuilder does not actually build an .EXE file from scratch (it just appends the application jar file to the end of a pre-built executable), it cannot do this very easily. I know of one tool that you can use to modify the icon resource for the executable after JBuilder creates it, a freeware program named Resource Hacker. I am sure there are others available. http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ 2003-Jan-04 12:15am JPMcGrath@JPMcGrath.net | |
