Occasionally, someone will reverse-engineer something in JBuilder and create an unofficial patch of their own. (Tsk. Doing this is probably close to violating the terms of the Borland License...) Such patches can also appear anywhere on Code Central, but the above two locations are likely places to find them.

There are two formats for patches. Official patches are placed into a predefined location like:

  JBuilder6/patch

Semi-official and unofficial patches are generally packaged as opentools, and those generally go into:

  JBuilder6/lib/ext

Be sure to read the documentation for each patch, because placing them into the proper location is critical.

To verify that a patch has been applied, launch JBuilder and use

  Help | About JBuilder ... | Info
  double-click on java.class.path

If the patch jar was placed into JBuilder/patch, it will be near the front of the classpath. If the jar was placed into JBuilder/lib/ext, it will be near the end.
