My preferred JDK is different from the JDK bundled with JBuilder. I want JBuilder's online help to reflect my JDK instead. How can I do this? |

There is something else you can do. It is not pretty but it will get you much closer to the real thing:
1) download the JDK 1.4 documentation zip file. 2) unzip it into a temporary directory. 3) rename the "docs" directory to "java". 4) zip the java directory and all its sbudirectories into a new zip file (keeping the directory information.) 5) rename the zip file you just created to jdk13_docs.jar 6) rename the jdk13_docs.jar file in the \JBuilder6\doc directory to something else (so you keep it as a back up.) 7) put the jdk13_docs.jar you created. Now. every time you access the JDK from the JB6 help system the information will come from the 1.4 JDK. The only problem with this aproach is that Borland keeps a separate index for the JDK, which I had no time to crack. The consequence is that you can access the index and search the entries that were existing in the JDK 1.3, but you can browse to the new information on the right pane (the JSpinner class for exmple). Also, when you hit F1, it brings you to the correct place in the JDK documentation.
