When I launch a JSP, tomcat starts and says I should look in a log file to find tomcat error messages. I can't find this log file anywhere! Where is it? |
| Christophe Porteneuve writes:
This is all due to the default Tomcat configuration for JB projects. It states logging is to be done in the Message View (the output console, if you will) instead of files. Tomcat just does not take this into account for its boot messages. To *actually* log into files: - Go to your Project properties, click the Servers tab. - You should see "Tomcat 3.2" as the active web server in the corresponding combo - Click the Setup button - Click the Logging tab - Check the File radiobuttons for the logs you're interested in - OK you way back to JB - Run again
Under you project's root dir, both a "conf" and a "logs" directories are created. The conf directory contains the dynamically generated configuration files for Tomcat. It will be deleted when you stop your project from within JB. The logs directory will not, however, so that you can examine the log files afterwards. | |
