I'm trying to install JBuilder 5 on Windows ME. The jbuilder5/bin directory looks okay and JBuilder 5 will launch. But, when I continue installation with the Documentation and the Samples, I get this error: "The correct version of JBuilder Foundation could not be found. Please refer to setup.html for instruction on how to correctly install JBuilder". I've removed my virus checker and tried everything in the setup.html and in the Install FAQ. |
| One user reports that his Windows ME machine already had a copy of
Sun's SDK 1.3.1. He tried uninstalling SDK 1.3.1, then installing
JBuilder 5, and both the documentation and the samples installed
without problems.
Apparently JBuilder 5 will not install properly on Windows ME if the Sun SDK 1.3.1 is present. (I do not know why.)
The same user noted that a Windows 2000 machine which also had
SDK 1.3.1 installed had no difficulties installing JBuilder 5, so
the problem appears to be limited to Windows ME.
